I auditioned for Hamlet today, and there is a giant pair of briefs (with Ben's name on the waistband) lying on my desk. Tomorrow is Prom. Where should I start?
Well, she and I are friends again. I suppose I should start there. And I'm glad. There's nothing else to it but gladness. It's wonderful to have her back.
The auditions went as auditions do... Ben is going to be great as Hamlet. Alejandro auditioned for Laertes... and I auditioned for all the girl parts. I think I have about an equal chance at all of them, though I'm hoping for Ophelia. I'll be giddy for Gertrude, though. That's what I'll put in my description line if I get it. "Giddy for Gertrude" or "Overjoyed for Ophelia".
The costumes that we were going to use for Prom fell through. If I ever see Mary Ellen Smith again, I'll do unspeakably cruel things to her. She flaked on us, and now there's no time to make the necessary adjustments to the dress. If I had it. But the tux shop was wonderful to Alex (he's so... handsome), and I always have my dress from last year.
This week has been a fabulous week.
And as for Ben's briefs...
